Firefighters worked to clear a suspicious fire at the old Joe's Crab Shack.

A now permanently closed Joe's Crab Shack on off NW Loop 410 was hit again with another suspicious fire incident. San Antonio firefighters responded to reports of smoke discovered by members of the San Antonio Police Department. Police officers driving around the area around 1 a.m. on Friday, January 14, called in the suspicious incident, according to a preliminary report.

The call was upgraded to a structure fire, though firefighters found the flames had mostly knocked out by the building's sprinkler system when they arrived.

The former restaurant was hit with what authorities believe to be a Molotov cocktail.

Crews at the scene said that it appeared someone threw a Molotov cocktail through a window, which then ignited the contents inside the closed restaurant. This is the second time in less than a month that a suspicious fire was discovered at that location.

Firefighters responded to reports of smoke Thursday night.

It's not clear if arson investigators were sent out to the scene. MySA reached out to the San Antonio Fire Department for comment.
